Dear to whomever it may concern,

I am writing to you today to ask for some help for a mission trip that I'll be joining this year. In March, I'll be traveling to Belize with the Loma Linda Seventh-Day Adventist Korean Church, where we’ll be providing medical, dental, physical and spiritual needs to various communities. As a second-year dental student attending the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, I will primarily be assisting the dental team in any way that I can. But being that it's my first mission trip ever, I am also ecstatic to soak in as much knowledge as possible from all the different teams and individuals involved.

Many of you may know that I love to travel, but you may not know exactly why. The first reason is my passion in getting to know people's stories – their joys, heartbreaks, reasons to love, and even the secrets they’ve kept tucked away out of fear of judgment. In other words, I want to get to know the people of Belize on a deeper and emotional beyond just addressing their physical needs. Secondly, as I prepare to to enter the clinic next year and work directly with patients, I want to learn how I can best approach people and their health concerns. I hope to break down the stereotype of dentists as scary and and unapproachable by fostering a compassionate and welcoming environment for them. That way, I can walk alongside my patients, earning their trust rather than imposing authority. Lastly, I believe God has called me to go on this trip and I am excited to see what He has in store for us in Belize.

With that in mind, I’m seeking financial support to reach my goal of $900, which will cover my flights and transportation. If you’re unable to contribute financially, I would still deeply appreciate your prayers as our team prepares our hearts and minds for this journey.

If you have prayer requests right now, please email me at [email protected]. Thank you for your time and support.

With love,

Taylor Kang
